How many questions do you recommend people should skip on the SAT Reasoning per section?
Q. I'm taking the SAT Reasoning test this Saturday, and some people are telling me it's better to skip questions you don't know rather than guess; other people are telling me to guess rather than skip the question. I have that question open up right now and if you know the answer, please take time to answer that question as well. But my question here is, if it IS better to skip questions you don't know on the SAT Reasoning test, how many questions would you recommend skipping per section? How many skipped-questions would be considered too much? Thanks.
Asked by Vicky - Sun Mar 8 20:43:31 2009 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. For each correct answer you get 1 point For each unanswered question you don't lose anything Each wrong answer you lose 1/4 of a point. Go thru the test & only answer the questions that you positively know the answer & skip the rest. Go back thru the test as time allows. If you don't have a clue on the answer skip it, if one answer stands out as the educated guess answer the question. Obviously you want to answer correctly as many questions as possible but making wild guesses can hurt your score. Therefore I would say there isn't a set answer on how many you should skip. I think that would depend on how well you know the material. Good Luck!!!

Why do people ask questions of a Philosophical nature and yet applaud a non-philosophical response?
Q. I find more and more that people ask questions that seem like they are philosophical in nature and yet are really questions that do not seek truths, but more seek an opinion that either rivals thier own or cannot be pondered due to the lack of clarity in the question. This is more a question of Human Nature than anything. Is it because people need to feel agreed with? What is it that makes a Phlosophical question viable? Do we ask, just to hear a myriad of answers or are we just curious of other minds? Any answers will do... Just thinking aloud. Answers about people being stupid and like, while recorded and possibly laughed over, will not be taken seriously. And yes, I am well aware of the Irony of the question being in the Philosophy… [cont.]

A. great questions!! This is exactly how i feel about whats happening in this category. I often like to correct ppl's questions either because i feel they are not clear or that they simply make no sense at all. Sometimes i feel that ppl get offended by what i do but I had to do something because some of these questions i saw were just dead confusing. For some reason even when the questions seemed to make sense, the asker didn't expect a rational and logical response instead they wanted an answer that matched their opinion which wasn't related any kind of truth except their own truth - something thats impossible to find out for anyone who does not have the ability to read minds. One thing i would encourage ppl to do is to assess the… [cont.]

A. I'm sure that the attorney you will be hiring will prepare you adequately for the USCIS interview. The only way that I see your daughter being questioned is if there is some suspected fraud. Fraud means that your marriage isn't a real one but only for the purpose to secure a green card. If that is not you then you will have little reason to worry. If you have some specific reason why you think an interview might go badly, then by all means tell them to your lawyer. Don't forget that under the Child Citizenship Act that your child becomes a citizen when you do. However once your child turns 18, then it's too late for that possibility. I'm not sure why you waited 4 years after marrying a US citizen to finally apply for adjustment. … [cont.]

What are good questions to ask at interviews?
Q. I'm applying to an electrical company for an electrician apprenticeship and was hoping to find out some good questions to ask an electric company, as well as good questions to ask any company when at an interview. I'm terrible when it comes to thinking of questions to ask, so it'd be great help to know what other people think are good questions!
Asked by Kate - Sat Mar 27 11:45:18 2010 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. It's always a good idea to ask about future prospects, i.e. promotion routes once your apprenticeship is complete. It shows that you are thinking of a long term career and progressing within the company. It would also pay to research the company, find out what their various departments or divisions do and have an idea which you would like to work in once trained, you can then ask questions about that. Don't bang on about how much money you will earn because that is a negative.

Asked by bubbaboeing - Thu May 8 11:56:10 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Asking them how much it cost them to build is a stupid question . . . your offer shouldn't be based on what the seller paid for the home, but what the home is worth. Yes, it could help a little to know what they paid for it, but who is the buyer to decide that they should only make $50K when the market shows that they could make $80K? There is really no way for you to know whether or not the seller is in a position to hold out for the best possible offer . . . so if you like the home, make a fair offer that you are happy with. Just wanted to vent a little there . . . You want to make sure that there is no metal framing left on the bottom of the home, that will depreciate the value. The foundation should be just like a traditional home. [cont.]

Asked by John Glenn - Sun Feb 7 05:36:28 2010 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Ask them what the next step is in the interview process. Ask them how you rank with the other candidates because you are very interested in the job. Ask for the job -do you know that if you are less qualified than someone else and you ask for the job and tell them you can start immediately that your enthusiasm and assertiveness will get you the job? Always ask them if you have answered all the questions they have for you. Remember to get all those that you speak with email address so you can follow up with a thank you that day, not the next, but that day. Between your enthusiasm and follow up you will stand out and that is good.

But with some of the questions which look like they belong here and you click them and get, "Should I wear..." or "My bf is ..." and of course the ones where the person wants to know "if it's true that..."
