Why are professional ethics so important in journalism and the legal world?
Q. I actually want to compare, not contrast, the importance of professional ethics in journalism and for lawyers.

A. Lawyers are held to a code of ethics by law (not that they necessarily follow it). Whereas with journalists it's more like a suggested set of guidelines. These days it's very rare to find any kind of ethics in Journalism.
